Skilled Trades Scholarship

J. Ranck Electric, Inc. (JRE) has become the company it is today through the hard work of many skilled tradespeople from electricians to laborers and operators. Michigan is facing a shortage of skilled tradespeople over the next ten years. As a result of this, our office and field team have been making a concerted effort to reach as many people as possible to show them how rewarding and successful careers in the professional trades can be. To further aid this effort, we are offering five $500 scholarships available to those entering a construction-based skilled trades education/training program. Preference will be given to those entering the electrical field and relatives of JRE employees.

Details

Scholarship awards will be available for qualified educational expenses (training program fees, tuition, books, and tools) and paid directly to the student.

Applications are accepted all year. Submit your application by October 23, 2026, to be considered for a 2026 scholarship.

Selection Criteria

Essay answer (50 points)
Letter of recommendation (30 points)
Electrical field interest (10 points)
JRE employee relation (5 points)
Experience in trade field (5 points)
