J. Ranck Electric recently partnered with Life Remodeled, a Detroit-based non-profit, and donated the labor and installation of solar panels on their Skinner Park project. The new park is adjacent to Denby High School on Detroit’s northeast side, and the home of a new pavilion with a 4.8 kW rooftop solar array. Unlike the panels JRE typically installs, the PowerFLEX BIPV panels used in Skinner Park are flexible and roll out like a rug for installation.

Skinner Park is the center of a larger project to improve the Denby neighborhood as a whole. Each summer, Life Remodeled organizes thousands of volunteers and hundreds of companies like JRE to improve Detroit neighborhoods– reducing blight one park, school, or home at a time.
