MDOT’s Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program is a federally required program designed to ensure that firms owned and controlled by minorities, women, and other socially and economically disadvantaged persons have the opportunity to grow and become self-sufficient through participation in federally funded MDOT contracts.

DBE participation is always encouraged. If you are a non-DBE supplier or subcontractor, we encourage you to consider teaming up with a DBE supplier or subcontractor to provide DBE participation in your quote. When submitting your quote, please indicate the amount of DBE participation your company is committing to the project.

MDOT offers monthly MBE/DBE Construction Boot Camp which provides participants with the opportunity to spend two days learning from experts in the field of construction, business and finance that will equip them with insight on growing their business. Participants will learn the importance of business branding, back-office structure, accessing capital, bidding on projects and much more! Monthly workshops and trainings, as well as other DBE documentation is posted on MDOT’s website.
