Traverse City beach lit up with autonomous trail lights

A JRE crew spent Earth Day last week installing earth-friendly trail lighting at Traverse City’s West End Beach (JRE Job #314014). Each light pole’s self-sufficient system is topped by both solar panels and a wind turbine, and houses battery storage in the foundation. These features will allow the lights to shine every night all year, even with overcast days and long nights in winter.
