Safety Director Award 2007

< Back

The Safety Director Recognition Award is presented to the J. Ranck Electric employee who is most deserving for his outstanding commitment to safety along with an emphasis on his notable accomplishments throughout the year.

This year, the distinguished honor is presented to Bob Tonkavich for his performance, professionalism, and devotion to safety.

Bob's notable 2007 safety achievements include his insight on the CMU Satellite Energy project, which required expertise in recognizing potential hazards, including confined space, arc flash, and electrical hazards.  Of particular note, he was instrumental in resolving a safety hazard that involved a damaged primary power line.  In addition, Bob and his crew at the CMU Satellite Energy project received a MIOSHA violation-free inspection.

Most respectably, the Linden Wastewater Treatment Plant reflected Bob's commitment to safety of his fellow workers.  This project encompassed extreme potential dangers because of the threat of working in an area of human waste.  Bob consistently reminded his crews and the Safety Director that his goal was not just to protect workers today, but to protect their future well-being.

We also recognize Bob for his positive input and ideas regarding safety, as well as his commitment to daily communication with the Safety Department.  We extend our sincere appreciation for all of his efforts.

It is with great pleasure that J. Ranck Electric honors Bob Tonkavich with the 2007 Safety Director Recognition Award.
