Above & Beyond - Field Recipient

The 2005 recipient of the Above and Beyond Award is a person who is characterized by confidence in his abilities, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to JRE.  He is an outstanding man, respectful, considerate, and a young 28-year old success of his craft.

In early 2005, one of JRE's key signal foremen left the company, leaving in his absence a need for his replacement.  At the time, all established signal foremen were spoken for and unavailable to assume this foreman's workload.  Jeremy Ranck was given the opportunity to prove himself as a key MDOT foreman.

Jeremy took the opportunity and ran with it.  It is amazing that this man, who only a few years ago was an apprentice, was able to transform into one of JRE's best signal foremen.  This year, he hung over 100 intersections, in locations ranging from the western Upper Peninsula to Detroit.  He had a terrific year, with all of his jobs being profitable and accident-free.  Even though he spent many hours away from his home and family in 2005, he never said no when asked to go out of town.

Jeremy Ranck is a team player, dedicated and driven.  In early 2005, there were doubts, a backlog of 60 intersections, and no proven person available to do the work.  Jeremy has nothing more to prove - in one exhausting yet exciting year, he has proven himself as an outstanding signal foreman.  Because he is all of this and more, we respectfully acknowledge Jeremy Ranck as the recipient of the Above and Beyond Award for 2005.
